What is an Autumn lawn treatment?
Our Autumn lawn nutrition is a low nitrogen feed with Potassium and Phosphorus to reduce excess leaf growth and enhance rooting ready for the cool season.
We apply our Autumn Seaweed and Turf Hardener treatment during this visit. This will help suppress any emerging moss, harden the grass plants for the colder weather and continue to increase beneficial soil micro-biology. Magnesium and iron help create a lush, dark green appearance.
We will also apply a top up professional, selective weed treatment to target any newly emerged lawn weeds if required and weather conditions are suitable.
What does the Autumn lawn treatment include?

How to care for lawns in Autumn:
Our range of sports ground quality professional fertilisers are carefully applied at the correct dose and formulation for root growth without harmful excess new leaf growth. There is less daylight through the Autumn, our special Seaweed and Turf Hardener treatment encourages Chlorophyll production for greener colour, whilst hardening off the grass ready for Winter.
It also blackens early moss, which can start to invade your lawns as the weather turns damp.
Various new lawn weeds often continue to emerge coming into Autumn, these are spot treated with various active herbicides to target both common and more resilient types, including dandelions, thistles, daisies and clover.
It is important to continue with regular mowing whilst the grass still grows, maintaining a height of 30-40mm for most lawns. Little and often is best, collecting clippings where possible to help avoid Red-thread issues. The aim is to not remove any more than 1/3rd of the total grass height in any single cut, so lawns may need mowing 1-2 times a week for best results, ensuring the mower blade is regularly sharpened.
